I will never forget the first time James took me to meet his grandma... You slowly preferred me and became my grandma. I have a nan and a gran, but not a grandma. Despite alzheimers, you always knew who I was. You always gave me a kiss and I became your darling girl. 

My heart sank when I found out you were unwell, not because I was worried to lose you. Because you were mine and I was yours. I always thought of you feeling so alone and scared. Your mind was hurting because you didn’t understand what was happening, but we did. Your eyes lit up when you saw me, always kissing me and singing me songs.

I spent your final days with you and that was when I realised, I was your darling girl and I always will be. But better than that, you were my darling girl too. I hope you rest easy with your husband. I never met him so tell him all about me.
